MV Remix Hip Hop Dance

Hip Hop is a culture which pretty much involves its own genre of dance. In this blog post, I will be enumerating 5 of the best hip hop dance videos that I’ve seen from way back in the day up to present.



First video that I must say has been very influential is MC Hammer’s "U Can’t Touch This". I know it’s pretty much a throwback but personally, I think this video set the pace for hip hop dance videos that came after that. Also, let’s not forget that this music video is the poster child of the era when Hip Hop was still old school. A lot of people also might agree on this one since this vid took home an MTV Award for the best Dance Video in 1990.



Second on my list is an easy one. It’s "It’s Like That" by RUN DMC vs Jason Nevins. This song is one of the best hip hop dance videos ever, exactly depicting how it is to battle in the streets. Not only did this video get me into hip hop dancing but also brings back good old memories when Hip Hop was just as raw as the dance.



Third on my list is Justin Timberlake’s "My Love". This video is so refined with its Hip Hop dancing that I sometimes just watch it in awe. Its way too awesome with the transitions and camera angles that you clearly see the different details of the movements you would have never spotted if the camera was still. It’s also really sexy in a not-so-blatant way.



Fourth on my list is not really an MTV but a dance video of the online battle between ACDC and M&M Cru that was uploaded on youtube.com. ACDC consisted of the dancers from the movie Step Up 2 while M&M Cru featured Miley Cyrus and her friends. Their battle became a movement that not only involved some of the best Hip Hop Dancers in the world but also some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Their production culminated in the Teen’s Choice Awards in 2008 in a battle that was off the hook! Whether it was for publicity or a prank that got out of hand, their battles online are a must-see.



Lastly, this video is one of the newest that I’ve seen so far that featured real dancers from real crews. People think that Justin Beiber is gay and everything but he made the right move featuring legit dancers in his mtv, "Somebody To Love." From a hip hop dancer’s perspective, what he did actually deserve props because he showcased the talents of the dancers in his video as much as himself!



These 5 are just some of the best Hip Hop Dance Videos in the world. I know some might disagree but for me, these 5 are the illest videos that can stand on their own. I know I didn’t mention some other great acts but maybe I will next blog post. Just keep in tune and I’ll keep you guys updated. Peace.
